That sub is a animal and sound great. No you didnt get screwed. That sub will handle 600W rms like a champ no issues. I ran a 12" the small of the two rated for 350W rms and ran 700W rms all day long. Did you get the enclosure with it? The black finished one?

Ya i did but i also noticed that all the screws on that black face plate were rusted and you could kind of screw them forever. Also theres a kind of intake tube and i noticed theres a little piece of the black material inside of it that started to peel off. Can that affect the sound and make unwanted distortion? And like ya the guy who sold to me told me that with a sick amp that it could blow out like 2x12" systems but i didnt believe him. Thanks for the info man.

I would try and remove those screws then rotate the sub a bit to bite into new fresh wood with new screws. And as for the black piece see if you can get in there with same glue and stick it down. It will make noise if the port is not clear. But ya a nice setup.
