subwoofer out

Hi,

I have a pioneer 6900ub which has a subwoofer out with a lowpass filter of -18db/oct connected to a mono pioneer amplifier with another filter incorporated inside of -24db/oct. what happens in this case were two low pass filters are in place ?

i believe they are combined, making it a very sharp drop if the same frequency is selected.

so can you tell me how can I set the cutoff frequency of the amplifier to 50hz so it will cutoff with the low pass filter of the head unit since 60hz is the lowest cutoff of the head unit ?

thanks

^Just make sure to disable the HU filter as well.

What kind of midbase setup do you have to have a cut off so low?

then just turn it up to the highest it will go. ur head unit will cut off at the high value (prob something above 100hz) and then set the amp to whatever u want (the 50hz). that way the head unit will put out a broad range of freq's and the amp will shave those down to whatever u set it as. if you set them both to the same freq then you'll get what i was talking about before, an essential cliff of a rolloff.
