Im just wondering if its worth buying one off a buddy for 40$?

 

40 bones aint to bad of a deal. its just a mid grade sub. probally sounds decent

 

nothing special. wouldn't buy it unless you have a purpose for it

 

I dont, just something to take apart, or mess around with

 

Plugging subs like that into a wall outlet can be fun......

smoke .. LOTS of smoke :-)

lol, A high power sub will run without any problem, mid-power tend to make loud noises and smoke until they freeze up, then if your lucky a fire!!, the low grade usually just go POP!! and smoke. Sometimes a fire. I find midgrade subs are the funnest. They give the most amusing shows.
