No doubt, yeah the box situation will be interesting, I'm thinking a ported box cuz I listen to hip hop and house for the extra loudness. My handyman skills are in the suck department lol. I know a guy that has a install shop in my area I was thinking of geting to hit me up with a custom hook up.

well really to make a box you dont have to be a pro just make sure you have the right tools and it should be able to cut strait. then blue it together and try it out ( just make sure you seal it good)

True, true. The Fi Audio site recommends 28-33Hz for the Q12, whats the diff if its off a couple Hz?? Also the site recommends 1.8-2.5 cuft for the ported box. So does that mean the bigger 2.5 cuft box would be louder/cleaner then the 1.8 cuft box?? Would there be much of a difference ???

bigger the better lol and to me yes 1 hz makes a difference. my curent box is able to go from 37hz down to 29hz by just adding a peace back to my port. and to tell you the truth it does make a huge difference the lower you go the better in my opinion.

2.5cu ft with 18hz tuning and it should sound nice and play low also. and that low it will beat the car lol

Cant go wrong with anything from Fi
If you're looking to do the Q, try not to feed it more than 1200W
If you want to run more power than that, step up to the BL

There are a TON of smaller, less known companies making quality product.
JL is a HUGE name, everyone knows who they are - and thats why they can charge you so much for their product.
Never again will I be going well known name equipment (JL, Kicker, Rockford, etc),
well except HU, and component sets

I've recently aquired a pair of Fi 15"BTL's, saving up for some Sundown amps ATM
Everything else is covered

Ya??? The BL and BTL's look pretty nice statistically speaking. The got a whole bunch of options, (P Chamfer, Cooling, Flatwind, Daily Or SPL, and Extreme Lead) that can increase the cost of the sub by over $50. Are all these mods really necessary or are they pretty decent simply stock??

Those options basically allow the sub to handle more power. They are solid subwoofers in stock form...
