System resale value...

Hey,

Im trying to sell my current system on kijiji here in Ontario. What is a fair price to ask for it? I know what I have invested, but understand value invested doesn't mean anything when it comes to selling it.

Have four JBL P1022C subs, and a Fusion NV2500 (somebody on caraudio.com is trying to sell one for $190. I have my ad posted for $700, would be willing to go down a bit, but I don't wanna sell myself short, or rip anybody off. A couple of the baskets are scratched from installing the last box, the subs are otherwise completely functional, and still tight. Im trying to sell them with the box as well. What do you think?

Be willing to break up your system and sell it piece by piece.

Anybody with $700 cash can get a decent system from a retailer, it might not compare to yours but it will still shake their mirrors. Stores have accountability, you have none on CL or Kiji. It sounds like you know this but asking price means nothing especially if the ad has been posted for a week or two, well not nothing, it means no one will pay what he's asking.

If you want good money for your stuff you might get lucky but I think you'll probably be disappointed. If it's worth that much to you then maybe you're better off hanging on to it for a future build or helping out a friend/family with a killer deal.

I've found I only get money for car audio equipment when I come to the realization that my stuff is useless to me and that any money in my pocket is better than the equipment doing nothing in my garage.

If your serious about selling post on CL or Kiji Wednesday or Thursday if you get no replies over the first weekend you are priced too high. You could always get lucky though.

Honestly, I doubt anyone would pay 700$ for anything from fusion NEW let alone used.

Best bet is to usually look on ebay and compare what prices are out there. that fision amp is rare and that's hard to tell but a few posts from the US sites around 200 to 300 dating back to 2008.

For the subs...For the pair in a box maybe 350$.

On ebay, once you're signed in, search for your item then in the left hand column selected "completed listings". Prices shown in red expired without being purchased and pricing in green were actually bought by someone. Then you can really see what people are willing to pay for items.

I have the entire system posted for $700. I wouldn't expect more than a couple hundred for the amp tops... I have four of the subs in a 6th order that I built.. it sounds great.

I get it now, like previously suggested, make multiple adds for the stuff to sell individually.
