are these any good?
hey guys
i just picked up a civic with literally no speakers or a deck in it, but it has wiring for subs. im looking for a some low-end, but decent stuff. how about these RCA's. they seem good price wise, what about quality? do you think they're worth it, or should i just save up for the really good stuff.

well, not too much. like around 100-150 for the speakers. my problem is that there other parts to fix on the car and i know that i definately want a better system, so i'll probably replace the system in like 2-3 years. i dont wanna spend like too much on everything, but if i have to, i can spend a bit more.
i need to buy a deck, 2 front speakers, 2 tweeters, 2 rear speakers and a sub and amp if i have money.
any advice?

Looks like I'm going to have to stop by Xcess again.....guess they finally got this years batch of car audio in.....
Good thing about Xcess Cargo: cheap prices....when you buy the volume of (usually) last years left-overs from the distributors that they do, you're bound to get it cheap....
Bad thing about Xcess Cargo: it's never state of the art stuff.....
RCA has made entry and mid level home audio forever....their last venture into car audio didn't go well.....they may have learned their lesson, but I would suggest they will still be producing entry and mid level products. As long as you're not expecting too much from these speakers, they should make enough sound to keep you happy while you fix the other problems with the car.
Unfortunately, with the prices that low, you will be hard pressed to find even used "brand name" speakers for the same $$....personally, I love trying equipment like this, just to see how much I can get out of them. If you are careful installing them, using something to cut down on vibration and sound loss in the doors especially, you might be surprised.....
Good luck with them, let us know how it works out and don't hesitate to ask here for any help you need installing them.
BTW, if you let us know where you are, you may find some help doing the install right in your neighborhood....

RCA components
The RCA component set is not that bad for the super cheap price that they have them for. A friend of mine that I was doing a complete system for, bought them for his truck before he realized they didn't fit. I was surprised at the quality of this $40 set (that's what he paid at XS Cargo). Don't get me wrong, they don't compare to Alpine, but for $40-60 you can't go wrong. I believe he's still got the RCA set, as his wife had a Honda I can put them in.

They had a good run of Monster Cable that stoped local shops from carring it...I mean they can get good product but seem to be focusing on importing istead of liquidation buys!
