As per a buddy of mine who manages one of the stores:

They buy the bulk load at CES every year.....whichever manufacturer has a buttload of end of lines, end of years, refurbished units (which includes returns from bankrupt dealers and wholesalers) for a discount price, shows up in the stores a few months later. It's not all total crap either, any of the people I know who bought some of the MA Audio HK series or the Clif Designs CD series amps have had good results with them. One of the guys at my work bought 2 of the 18" quad coil MA Audio subs, and even though he doesn't have the 10Kwatts MA says they'll handle, they are still working 18 months later with around 2K each.... Not bad for a $350 driver...

Individual stores occasionally have product from local sources, available only at the one store, and no rain checks issued....

In agree they do buy lots of crap now but they use to buy old stock from companys!
