Think ive narrowed it down to a few subs
Hi Adam... I am no self proclaimed audio wizard... however i do have first hand experience with alot of product... (I guess you can call it a sick obsession) My word is not and will never be last say on any of the products i comment on...
Many subs can suffice for sq... Proper box, tuning, and install will equate to a good sounding sub bass section. Some subs however do excel in certain areas where some are left behind... and vice versa... Their is no perfect sub... one driver may suit my tastes better than yours or the next guy... really its personal preference.... But if you have to get down to it and really look at the mechanical abillities of a sub.. their really isnt a comparison to the w7...
i do agree with you... by not trying to localize your sub in a car environment... may be hard but with proper eqing, tuning etc it should all come together...
This is what i was trying to explain to Mike.... All the subs he has listed will do excellently for sq... he has a good install so all he has to do is make a good box... and tune...
I should actually say i have found a sub that i Enjoy as much as i do with w7's.. They are not the technological marvels the w7's are but they are a very nice sounding sub... and a whole lot cheaper.... Now the w7 walks all over the sub in pretty much every aspect... But tonality the sub is excellent... again in sq minimal usually equates to adequate.... in my new setup i have just as much power if not more on my front stage than my sub stage... its all matter of preference....
just like when choosing subs, but if you must delv deeper into things, its pretty hard to show a blind eye to a tried and tested design... numerous tests were done numerous reviews... if you have to judge a sub by share numbers the w7 is simply the king of the hill... many can argue all they want... and many will say its all in install and x sub sounds just as good etc... but its preference...

You should send me that W7, I'm realy curious now! Considering it was at the top of my list of subs to buy a year ago, I'm still up for hearing it.
Or....I could get a towel and take a drive.
