Thinking about competing in 2 seasons, looking for pointers.
there are tons of equal subs cheaper just dont buy them in canada get them in the states, there audio is far cheaper then ours, you can get an alomst brand new 12" atomic apx for 300-400 also a RF spl sub for the same or cheaper the list goes on, dont linit yourself to just canadian stores the prices here for new equipment rape you, not all but most of them
In which case, a DD 95 is comparably priced to an APX.
As for the RF SPL sub, can you tell me which one that is? If you mean the Team RF sub, well it hasn't been made in a few years.
So far you've mentioned 1 sub that is comparable but cheaper in the US. I'm sorry but I don't see too much to your argument just yet.

........but if u not gonna take that advice here is another one for you..........
dont bother with top level , if you dont know what u are doing the best gear wont help you. I'd get some kicker L7's (or really anything that's rated to handle 1k rms) and a half decent 2-3k rms amp and start with that.
oh and before you go buying any gear you should get a meter.

Thanks prolifik, thats actually exactly what I was thinking...
Get a meter and get low end gear the loudest I can get it, then substitute in new gear as I go... I understand its a waste of time/money, but I gotta be good at something, and going to something like World Finals would be a personal achievement.
Jordy, you're saying I'm gonna need more power to have a chance? Should I look at subs that handle 2-3kw and maybe run 2 2500D/equivelent amps? I know Worldind is running around 10kw in Street A, what should I use to have a chance at getting loud (when I get that far)?

As loud as possible... I read a while back that you consider more than 1 10" to be too much sub for Street A... Am I on the right track using 1 15" for B? Or should I also look at 2 12"s and see whats louder...

I was just saying that with an MT you're going to need more power.
If you go with different subs then you'll be ok though

hey fusion, i had an 18" mt running off of a pair of 2500D's(.6 ohms each) no problem, i also had a 12" mt running off of 1 orion 2500 daily with no issues. there stout woofers, but im with jordy if you want it to be loud, you need more power then that, it is a stiff woofer.
the most i did was a 142 on under 1000 watts with the 18, and with 2 orions i did a 149.4, 148.4 TL, that was before i got my term lab, didnt gte much testing done.
the mt's are awsome subs, but they deffinatly love power, and will probably not get as loud as a looser woofer with that little bit of power. but good luck, and if u need a hand, im pretty local, just pm me(still learnign, but some help is betetr then no help)
