my friend has a mvr300 alpine that he wants. 100 cnd +shipping. I tested it my self and works good. I can get you in comtact with him. As far as the thump it wasd the first amp that i did some mods to(did it to that one because it was the only one i was willing to sacrifice). poor thing used to go into protect mode more than it would actually play. I'd tell you to get almost any other amp that you can find. i do not know what a mvr300 goes for, but i'm sure that it is better than the thump amp. sorry thump fanatics(is there such thing as a thump fanatic?) pm me if your intersted in the alpine amp.

Hardwrkr: My apologies, as I have a base knowledge of car audio and installs, I was un-aware that I could run two subs off a 1 channel amp - I would simply attach both subs to the single connector on the amp? would that effectively 1/2 the RMS, or would it knock the resistance down to 2ohms, and then be the same as 1x4ohms?

TO be more specific, on the 4250D, I found these specs on the net... Only 125wx1 RMS @ 4ohms, how do I get down to 2 ohm, and why does the advertiser say it is 380wx1 @ 2ohms, yet the specs say 250w ??

- 4 Ohm Load 125 w x 1

Power 14.4 VDC (~MAX)
- 2 Ohm Load 350 w x 1
- 4 Ohm Load 200 w x 1

These are pretty underrated. You can basically take the "max" at 14.4v as the true rms rating.
380rms is likely what the birth certificate (MTX tested on that unit before shipping) stated.

If you have two 4ohm drivers you are correct in your statement. Connect them in parallel (both pos from speaker to pos on amp and same for neg)
and the amp will see 2ohms.
Perfect for that amp.

Wire the speakers in parallel (Ie from amp speaker terminals run two sets of wires - one for each amp.)
When running speakers in parallel the impedance goes like this:

Impedance: 4

Reciprocate that number: 1/4

However many speakers you have at that impedance add that many of fractions in your case: 1/4 + 1/4 = 1/2

Reciprocate the answer: 2

That wiring will give a 2 ohm load.

In a two ohm load like that the speakers will share whatever load is present. 250W will give 125W to each speaker; 300W will give 150 to each speaker.
