No disrespect Pioneer guy, but I have not seen a better screen than the Alpine DVA 901. The Pioneers look like garbage next to one. I have seen the two side by side and its not even close. That also goes for a large number of screens available out there. I have still yet to see a better screen. Combine the DVA 901 with the PXA 700 processor and you will have a hard time finding somthing that beats it.
Now saying that, the Alpine stuff is more money. Money well spent I think.
Check out the Macrom stuff too. They are a real up and comer in the multi-media technology.

i also agree with fat i have a the touch screen vrx935vd clarion...but i never use the touch screen feature other than to change my sound settings ( bass, treble, mid.) so the touch screen is not really a necessary feature to have..

hahaha sorry i just had to say that. its the added attractions that make it expensive and it is that price that makes rich guys want one. right mulini. just ask him if his has got him laid or not. lol no offense meant, just made me chuckle on the "not really a necessary feature to have" part

I feel the Alpine 901 is a good looking piece and paired with the PXA701 there are no equals but like Pioneer guy stated it's a bunch more money and not an apples to apples comparison with the price difference as a factor.
Alpine has their own way of doing HU's and if I was a fan of it I would have likely chosen that setup.
For the price you can get a Pioneer N1 for I think it is a great unit as well as the current Kenwood unit.
It comes down to what features you need the HU to do though. Do you need a bare DVD unit or is navigation a real interest necessity? Do you need time alignment, crossovers, EQ's, 2+ preouts, internal amp, high preout voltage, 6.5" or 7" screen, etc?
Personally I'm very pleased with the sonic abilities and features of my Pioneer AVH-P7500DVD.

All the new limos at my workplace have touch screen controls in the back. They sure are cool, but it takes hardly any time before the screen is covered in finger prints, and looks like crap. You need a special non-abrasive cloth to clean the screens without scratching them. Such as a micro-fibre. Its just a pain. Its neat, but a pain to maintain.
