Touch Seek on a Head Unit???!!?! %$@&!!!
I'm going to apologize right now for the language I'm about to use and if I may be incorrect in any way, but WHY in the **** are these IDIOTIC head unit manufacturers not including touch seek technology with their $1000+ devices?!?! I've scoped out the AVIC's, the W900's, the ECLIPSE's and any other brand I could think of and NONE of these MINDLESS, INCONSIDERATE ****S include it! My $150 iRiver mp3 player does. A billion iPod touches do. So what the **** is the deal?
Many of my tracks/mp3's are 60 minutes in length or longer, and I bask in PURE JOY when I try to queue a different part of a mix by using the FF/Seek button in 5 SECOND increments! There's no option for seek acceleration either! What a JOKE!
Do you know how long it takes to fast-forward through 30 minutes this way? Grab your calculators.... 6 ****ing minutes of non-stop button pressing!
Touch seek would allow you to seek to any part of a mix in any length with the single touch of a finger! WOW!
Do all these manufacturers assume that every consumer listens to 3 minute songs?
ALPINE, PANASONIC, PIONEER, ECLIPSE, CLARION... THEY NEED TO PULL THEIR HEADS OUT OF THEIR ASSES.
Any advice or corrections or insight is appreciated!
Thanks!
P.S. I use a Pioneer AVIC-F90BT (And it's a PIECE OF !)
Looking to upgrade.
Please help.

I see what your complaining about and Im not saying your wrong or you have no reason to be mad but maybe the reason they dont have a seek option is because with your mp3 player thats all your looking at while on a head unit your suppose to be driving and trying to use it.
Kinda hard to tap your finger on a time line to try and find a part of the song you like. It would cause you to look down more where as when you hold the seek button to fast forward you dont have to take your eyes off the road. Just hold and wait.
Pretty much the reason why they dont have a seek option ^^^

I think what madwarrior said is correct ... if you're looking at a double-din touch screen, the "Seek" option is probably built into the actual use of the unit, when you turn it on and its playing a song. It's probably visually available, not a physical button to push outside the unit.
As for single din, they should have it. This isn't something I have or haven't noticed, since both my Kenwood's and Alpine's have it ...
Maybe you have to hold the fast forward button and it's actually a seek?
Just a few ideas.
