Trying to understand amplifier settings. help!
I have a sony xplode cdxgt240 head, a 300.1 amp with LPF freq, input level and bass boost and 1 12" alpine type r with 2 ohm impedance.
I blew my rf p2 out so I wanna make sure i don't make the same mistake here.
input level 250mv to 4v (the preout voltage on the head is 2v, so should I set this at 5oclock to make sure it's not clipping? or am I looking at the wrong voltage)
LPF frequency is 32 - 320 so I set this around 4 o clock and bass boost I currently have at 0.
On the head I have my lpf filter to 80 and my hpf to 120 and the phase thingy is set to normal instead of reverse.
what tweaks should i do to ensure I don't blow out this sub.

I Have a sony head ubit that has a LPF on it I tried it and it sounded by with it on I just use the low pass filter on my Amp I have it set to I think 60 or 80 if you have yours set to 4 oclock that might be way to high mine set to 80 it at like 9 Olcock AM.

Also set your gain as low as possible I Had a Fockford segate Punch amp I think or maybe the one before it and with the gain just alittle bit up is sounded the same as all the way up now I Have a Pineer and it have a setting for normal in the gain and that to is almost maybe a 1/4 turned up thats it if that.
