The box is a bassworx i had before with a rockford sub. Its smaller sealed enclosure. I checked the dimensions and it was pretty spot on for what alpine recommended for one 12. Prob doesnt help its in my trunk. I will try resetting gains and everything. Eq hasnt been played with either. Thank you and ill get back to you. oh I never mentioned this before because I never really thought about it. Does the sub being brand new have anything to do with it? Maybe im just being too picky too lol. I mean I wanted good sound and to my ears it sounds so good, every little detail, so maybe a sq setup isn't as loud, idk. also bass eq on amp is off.

These decks have a LOT of features. Remeber when you go into the menus that you have to press and hold the '1' preset button to save your settings. If you ever disconnect the batter it will still retain everything. You're more than welcome to up the gain on your sub. Do it as momax suggested.

A neat little thing Alpine released with these decks was ipersonalize. https://i-personalize.alpine.com/

check it out.

well I farted around with the xovers and bass focus and gains and everything changed. I can see that it would take forever to get this exactly where I want it. I got it set and plop in another cd and its totally different. so ya, lots of playing around with this in the future. I kinda got freaked out. I was adjusting the gain on the sub amp and I get to a point where the sub is kind of popping or rattling so I turn it down so that stops I figured that was clipping. weird thing was I could only hear it when trunk was open and it sounded good in car, a lot more bass like I want. should I keep it where it is with less bass or go ahead and turn that gain up a little even though theres that weird sound when trunk is open. the sub is rated for 600w rms and the mrpm500 is running 500w @ 2 ohm so I don't see why the sub would be getting over powerd????
