Uh oh I see smoke...
So I went for a drive out to a random place for no reason and ended up by Forks Of The Credit in caledon cruising along those narrow dark streets completely rocking the bass...but then i smelled something burn and like an electrical burnt and then my bass cut out.
I ended up at a timmy's and looked at my amp and wiring etc and my 40A fuse (WHICH BY THE WAY I HAD A HARD TIME FINDING) was burnt on the inside and obviously poped. There was also a little cloud of smoke in the trunk
and at this point i'm like oh no there goes my new amp.
The amp is a Kenwood KaC-7204
I swapped out the fuse with a new one and the bass was kicking again for like 15 mins then it cut out again. Only this time I wasn't rocking it as hard, it was what I usually listened to it at while driving through the city. I never really rocked as hard as I did within the last 2 weeks it's been installed but considering I was in the midddle of absolutely no where I decided to put it basicly full blast and then this happens.
The speaker is way over powered its only a Rockford 12" P2 but an older model of it so I don't think it even has the dual coil's. The power and ground are both 4 Gauge wiring and its a solid ground paint sanded right off the body to bare metal. The only weird part about the system is i'm still using the stock head unit because I found out I had to buy all kinds of adapters and modules to install a headunit in a Pontiac G5.
So anyone have an idea what could be wrong with this amp?? I'm assumeing its fried but i'm no expert.

If the amp was new (according to your post), it will have warranty if bought from a CDN authorized dealer. If it is used (or new to you) then you will need to have a estimate done. I highly recommend Chris at S&S Electronics in Scarborough, 4boyssss here on the site. If the amp is older (not familiar with the model # but I can find out), then I probably would not sink the $ into it myself.

well its a relatively newer model amp it's still on kenwoods website and it's new to me I didn't buy it from a store so I have no warranty for it. Just blows my mind how for like 2-3 weeks it works flawlessly then i turn the volume a little higher then usual n pop goes the weasel ;-/
