Props to Jordy for handling this in a mature fashion

Keep your cool on this and you'll be a better man for it.

i do think that you should see it from another point of view. first off, it is not correct to take your money and not call you. but in your defense you should get what you pay for, in his defense , parts for high output alt just came in and i mean just now after a 3 month wait, customs held on to everybodys parts. i know cause i deal with the same company that rob does. third off, a warning, do not give some one your money unless you get a receipt and /or a written eta. if you did this all over the internet, you are sol. if you have a receipt, then you can go to court. but anything done the net can be forged and no court will use it against him or for you.

we just got our parts for alternators from 3 months ago. came in yesterday. patience is a must when dealing with special order parts. now its true that rob probably hasn' returned you emails and calls and that is all bad, but i can only imagine that after the first gazillion times that he told you to wait, youd figure that hey i think that this is gonna take longer than expected. I too stopped returnin every email for alts due to the high waiting period, i simply stated that there is no defenite eta and thats that. i wish you luck on this situation. but i do beleive that you handing over money to someone on the net is all bad. take a partial blame for it seeing as how you were in the wrong to fork over cash for a gulp of air. now it is up to you to wait and or pay him a visit(at your expense)

good luck and i hope that you have learned what to do and not to do in the future. when you buy anything the first thing that you should think about is how easy is it to deal with this person or company, i just went thru this same thing with 2 members from my club, both bought subs that are defective, and now they need to pay ridiculous shipping prices to get warranty. 500 each down the drain, scammed or just plain stupid for buying something so far away? when it happens to some one else it's funny, when it happens to you, its ****ty. why didnt you source an alt some where closer to you? go see domenic at SP Orleans in Ottawa and he will point you in the right direction.(tell him Pat at Trends sent you) good luck

Why not call him at the Autotemp 114th location, he works there? Use www.superpages.ca to find the number.

To give everyone an update... I just got a hold of Rob on his cell phone.

He explained that he was still waiting for some parts and then we discussed some other things.

We agreed that if he couldn't ship it out for me by Tuesday morning that he would be sure to update me.

So it looks like things are starting to work themselves out.

Thanks for the help and ideas everyone. I'll keep you posted come Tuesday.

Sometimes all it takes is a little communication to get things cleared up, good for Rob for looking after you.

Thumbs down

Well... to give an update.

Rob has given me the BS run-around for another month. (why am I so naive?!)

I called him up and left a voicemail last week saying that if I didn't have my alternator by this evening I would be filing court papers.

No more pissing around. I've been more than fair and he's given me the shaft every time.

I know he has the product because I've spoken to him and he has said he had the thing in his hands. There is no excuse not to send it.

I'm tired of "well I've been working a lot lately" I used to work 2 jobs doing about 40hrs a week at each. I still would have made time to get something like this done. Get your wife or a buddy to mail it.

The worst part about his "I have no time" excuse is that he's still going to shows, and still managed to go out and have a day of fun with Aaron driving race cars.

Thanks for putting your whole season and life ahead of mine, even though I PAID you.

The gloves are off. If anyone is having problems with Rob please send me your personal info so I can include some people to contact when I go see a judge.

btw... Rob.. if you're reading this. My parents just got out of a small claims case. My neighbour is a judge and walked them through everything. If you think you can ignore this and it will go away, I GUARANTEE it won't.

Still waiting on my alternator from Rob also.
I received one from him in May and immediately found it to have a bad regulater. Sent it back end of May as he said he would take care of it.

Still nothing by early July and he said he was waiting on the regulater but would get it out the following Monday as he had the part.

Trying for the past week to reach him by phone but can't.
Been so busy this summer I haven't really worried about it but now I will be exhausting every resource available.
