Talk to the moderators of the site...see if you can get his IP tracked, find out where he lives for real (that sounds like he just gave u mailbox number) and take the appropriate steps once you find out where he is (such as contact the police).

you got scammed by him too! the bastage.
Does anyone here remember alim somji? and this is 'khi sonji' I had a friend that also got scammed from BC, and someone else from another forum. We did everything, I mean EVERYTHING under the sun to track down this SOB. I even live in the same city! From all that I and my friends got this 'khi sonji; either IS alim somji, or his brother or something. We got his IP, that didnt get us very far as I guess he uses some sort of router or something. Fair enough we didnt really care about his IP. We informed the police and their internet fraud devision. They went to the po box and asked for all the information he had given them to open a box(full address, name, phone number) They called the number, its someone else's number whom had no clue of what was going on, an elderly couple I believe. Address, WENT to the house...dosent exist. Name, Alim Somji, looked up, called up many, none that were in any sort of way aware or anything of this.
Everything was fake, not a single thing true. No one knows who he is, where he lives, or even if he is a real person!
Bastard will get it someday and hopefully I will have apiece of it

IP addresses are easily obtained from emails - view the headers.
Of course, it's easy to mask an IP too, but in this case the IP used on the board is from a Canadian ISP, and is quite possibly a static one (a good thing)
For newer members, please take caution. Ask for references, then call them to see what they have to say.
If someone lives in a city or even a town, they have to have a physical street address. They might have a box address, but they for sure have to have a physical address. Unless you're dealing with someone from the "sticks" (no offense intended, I grew up on a rural route) there's no reason you should have to ship to a box address.
imo, a box address is an immediate red flag!
Phone number!! Check canada411.ca or 411.ca for the person's listing. If it doesn't show up, ask them for their home number. Everyone has a home number, right? Then check a reverse listing on 411.ca
While you're there, do a reverse lookup on that physical address. If there's different names involved, start calling to find out why.
If all of these things don't check out and you still want to proceed, I'd recommend insisting on an escrow.
I'd be more than willing to serve as an escrow for free if anyone needs/wants it. I'm in the middle of the country, so it might or might not be convenient for you.
Anyhow, hope you catch the scammer.

Looks like that address appears to be an apartment complex. That's going to make things tough. Someone in the area should drive by.
Rather strange that an apartment number wasn't given, but of course it would get to the PO Box.
You know what? The postal code on the address doesn't even match with the street address of just 2525 36 St NE.

Try this thread:

I said he was a scammer when he was playing games here earlier this summer. He said he worked at:
"Alex Richard & Partners, my supervisor is Karl
Ebrahim, and you can reach him directly at his private email address of
ebrahim10@shaw.ca"
I doubt the email address is real. Probably just one of his. But if the company is real it may turn up a lead.
Lardass.

The somji brothers... khi = Alim Somji
http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/cgi/...ile;u=00001535
http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/cgi/...ile;u=00001910
They've both only used 2 ips:
192.139.27.18 - Calgary board of Education - appears to be a static IP Anyone have friends/relatives who work there? Would students have access to this range of IP's or just staff?
http://www.samspade.org/t/lookat?a=192.139.27.18
24.71.223.140 - Shaw cable - static ip - same deal - anyone have a friend/relative who works @ shaw?
http://www.samspade.org/t/lookat?a=24.71.223.140
For those who have been scammed, please gather the required info and file a police report.
I'll bet that the same IP's were used to send emails - the police can pull the subscriber info from shaw - meaning with a static IP - someone is ****ed - but you need to file a report.
