Weird Noise, wont play properly

it was snowing an icey today an i opened my trunk by accident, big mistake, ice got into my trunk, an now when the put the music on, hear a weird, tapping comming from one of my subs, even though the volume is muted, an one of the subs stopped workin, what the hell is goin on, anyone??

Ouch... oddly enough the same thing happened to me. I took out the sub that stopped working and put a fluke meter to the coil to measure it's impedance and got no reading, which means the subs fu**ed. Either the tinsel lead come off the coil or the coil itself is done. If you have a fluke meter or can borrow one I'd suggest trying it out. Hopefully you don't have the same problem I have. As for the other sub I just brought it in the house and let it sit for a few days, strangely enough I hooked it up in the house and the rattles were gone and sounds perfect. Maybe I got lucky I don't know, but I thought maybe my experience might help out, good luck.

Did you get any ice or moisture on your amp(s)? Or just on your subs themselves.

The amps have condensation inside of them too, the ice fell on the amps, an i took out as much as i could, they are condesated too, they are clear soo i can see it when it lights up

If the amp still works to some extent, its important to let it dry 100% before running any current through it's circutry.. Otherwise, you could get some shorted circuts.

something similar happened to me aswell... I washed my ride last week and put the wet shammy in the trunk... Next day the whole thing was covered in frost... I took everything out wiped it down and put everything back in and so far no problems!! [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]
