Weird Speaker Question

Hello Guys, I have just recently purchased a pair of Infinity Reference 3022CF Speakers 3.5inch for the dash of my cavy for the Winter, I noticed something weird right when I opened the package. There was what appears to be a pair of caps noting "Bipolar 50V 100UF" I have an idea that it is a crossovers of some sort or bass blocker, but what is the freq that is crosses over at and are they 100percent necessary if I am running an amp which will be crossed at 100HZ or so?

Thank you

Your right, they are crossover caps, and those ones that you have there should start to roll off at about 400hz. I would use one or the other but not both. If you use only the amps crossover, you may want to start cutting bass before your planned 100hz .

okay thank you, what would you suggest? I know the speakers say 85Hz to 21,000KHZ but i do doubt that they can go that low. I do have midbasses up front as well but I would like to stay with the 3.5's for winter do to snow on the floor and I would hate to ruin a good pair of components by the wet getting to them (kickpanels). if I stay with the 3.5s what would you recommend my sub stage to be crossed at?

Thank you

I would start at 250hz and adjust from there. Let your ears be the judge from that point.
