What causes speaker-outs/ore-outs to die.

I am getting my alpine deck (7826p) fixed for pretty much free this coming week. A guy mentioned that the ic chip (????) is probabaly bad. What would this do and what are some common causes which would make pre-outs or speaker-outs die?

Grounding them out.......depends on what chip went and the kind of protection the deck has............

Sometimes if your amp is not grounded properly it will seek another path which is sometimes through the RCA's back into the deck blowing it's outputs.
