Paul, no one except yourself has called you a "a bull**** half *** backyard installer too." Don't try and play a card like that here, it will get you nowhere in a hurry and IMO, makes you look even worse than the picture you are painting for yourself presently. You on one hand talk about the following quote taken from this thread, http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/ubb/...f=16;t=000172, here is your quote. "Nobody care for your two cents. quit stirring up crap based on speculation." yet you continue to speculate into my business. These "***"umptions and speculations are starting to get the best of you here and it is not painting a pretty picture for yourself.
I wonder how FS would feel about a part time installer talking about their dealer agreements and the way they conduct business? Yet you feel that you can talk about it and mine at the same time with ABSOLUTELY NO RELEVANT AND PERTINENT INFORMATION as it directly applies in this industry and capacity, to OWNING OR MANAGING A BUSINESS IN THIS INDUSTRY to bring to the table. Put your dollars on the line, open your own store and then we will have a better understanding on things. Until that time, do not try and play businessman with me. Again, my business is my business, if you want to stick your nose into it any further, I will act on it.
Your advice as it applies to "this industry and this topic" is misguided. Nobody likes to be wrong but in this case, you are. This does not mean that your general information on the industry is not credible and is not valued at the same time. I think that you do have some great input to give to the industry and people that need it.
As a moderator, I think that you in general do a great and thankless job. In the case of this thread and some others, I believe that you have crossed the line as a moderator. I ask you to step back from this and see it from an outside perspective looking in, perhaps then you will see it differently.

As for being a hlaf assed backyard installer, that's great with me. As for getting product, pretty much every company that has name recognition has their own internet sales, or can be had over the net for way less than any shop, there are about 3 brands that I know of that actually prevent online sales, and not just lip service with net enforcers or whatever that does nothing to stop internet sales. There's already no money in head unit sales thanks to the race to zero in that category along with free install pretty much all the time. Chris Norris seems to do very well out of his garage, and yes I realize I am not Chris Norris, but maybe I am just venting from dealing with banks for 4 months with no real progress.

Dereck, I found the same thing here as well. It seems that the banks and other agencies are not open for business. Best of luck finding your investment capitol, it is worth it to keep working hard towards it.

^ Rob, maybe the next time you and Dave are on the phone you should get onto the same page.
"Backyard installer" is never a complimentary term or a matter of fact term.
You seem more than qualified to talk about FS and other big boxes and etailers conduct their business. You're not a big box or an admitted etailer so maybe you should quit commenting on their method of going to market.
Threats? Interesting. My nose is hardly 'in your business'. Considering my obvious 'lack of credibility' and 'cluelessness' I'm not sure why my opinion is so important anyway.
Truly, I couldn't care less how you operate your business really. Doesn't affect me day to day.
I will continue to maintain that piracy is wrong though and that is what this thread started over.

Paul, first a question so I do not speculate. Do you infact work out of your home for installs and do you also work part time for FS as a installer?
BTW, I wanted to thank you for helping me find new name, I'll have to try it on for size and see how it fits for awhile I think.
FYI, I have not been talking with Dave on the phone at all.

Quote from Dave in PM:
"...i spoke with mr2nr about this very thread..."
Sorry - I thought spoke meant on the phone. I guess it was a PM or email.
I rarely work out of my house for installs. I help out maybe one friend a year. I don't have the time or the inclination to spend my evenings that way.
My full time employ is in technical sales and application engineering. I keep on one day a week at FS because I like the people I work with.
Call yourself what you like.
