What to do...
Well here is my situation.
My current Set-up:
Pioneer P5800MP
Exile 1200.1
Alpine SWS-1241 12" type S subs 4ohm svc
Infinity 6x9's
Kenwood 150rms amp for 6x9's
My Upgrades as of now:
0 ga kit that i have yet to install
RE 05 XXX 12" that i am making a box for DVC 4ohm
Optima Yellow Top or Orbital X-treme comming soon
Also considering a 1 Farad cap and Dynamat
My issue:
I am wanting to use the RE sub for daily driving and competition (I plan on dabbeling a little more seriously in SPL this year) but I am having a hard time deciding what route to go as far as powering it.
I have the one amp that does 800 at 2 ohm and 1200 at 1 ohm, so if i got a second and strapped them,i could give the RE 1600WRMS at 2 ohm, but that barly meets the reccomended, and i am sure that it would love to have at least 2000RMS.
So as far as I see I have 3 options:
1. Buy a much bigger amp and spend money where i really dont have alot to throw around
2. Recone the RE to a more suitable coil config like dual 2 or dual 1.4.
3. sell/trade the RE and get a different sub (not really a prefered option)
4. get another and wire them for a 1 ohm load and again spend alot to get another and properly power them.
Also if i did compete i was gearing for Street A so I am trying to avoid a multiple driver set up.
Any and all input welcome, and thanks in advance.
