Its funny how so far, on this board, I havent heard anything really bad about Pioneers ..... whereas on other boards, people bash them ...

What kind of a bump can I expect from 2 10s of those Pioneers ? I guess some of it will have to do with the type of car I drive, no ?

I know its 90% install and 10% equipment, but Im just planning to use a normal sealed box made of 3/4" MDF, and throw it in the back of the trunk ....

Personally I would go with two JL 10W0's. I ran them for years, my buddy is still pounding my old pair that I bought in '96, they don't need a lot of power to get loud, and they work well in .7 sealed per sub, even better ported. I think they sound quite accurate too, if you are into SQ. I am sure that the Pioneers are good too, I bought one a few months back, I was going to build a box for it, but I ended up returning it, as my plans changed again. You can take a listen to them at Future Shop though, if you want an idea of how they sound, I am sure. Just my 2 cents....

I would rather get a Shiva for $175 than the pair of Pioneers for $200, but the Pioneers are still decent ...

So you guys really believe in this sub eh ?

I went to future shop today, ready to buy them, when the dude told me that they only had one left .... the other store has 7 .... but do I take this as a sign ? LOL !

seriously tho, i took a listen to it at the store....they had it in a normal little sealed box, and maybe it was just me, but it didnt sound quite that powerful....i dont know if itd sound better when there's two of them going in my trunk at the same time ....

im going to negotiate with my local store here about the price of 10w0s .... but from what ive heard, they arent worth the money for the amount of power they put out .... youre really paying for the JL name

Please correct me if Im wrong lol ... on EVERYTHING !

Subs don't put out power, just for the record. If you mean that they don't have a whole lot of output, I would have to disagree. Pioneer=$100 W0=$140-150. It is your call, I loved my W0's and my W3's too. The W0's have been selling for around the same price for the last 6-7 years, I don't believe you are paying for the name, they are just all around decent subs. But the bottom line is let your ears and wallet make that final decision.

You seem set on the Pioneers. Buy them, if you don't like them, take them back. FS is pretty lenient like that aren't they?

The problem is , I wont be getting the system completely installed for quite a while, and FS only has a 30 day return policy
