What do you know about RE subs?

I've never heard an RE woofer, so just take my 2 cents as is.
Resonant Engineering is now the benchmark for quality & performance per dollar woofers (along with adire, dd, ascendant, to name a few). They can outperform everything if installed correctly (worded loosely). They have the RE/SR/SE/SX/MX/XXX/MT lineup for 2006. The MT is the SPL woofer that's winning dB drag nowadays. The XXX is the new SQL woofer. It is twice as deep as the old one, and instead of having a 33mm xmax, it now has 54mm (that's a couple inches!) to give you that earth pounding bass, as well as a 2000W RMS powerhandling, an increase of 500W from the old 1500W RMS XXX. The MX is completely new (along with the SR), is an SQL woofer with an RMS of 1500W, and is oriented for a daily driver. The MT is geared for 40-60 hz, while the XXX is designed for the lows. I've heard plenty of good & bad comments on their customer service, but they have just hired a new sales team. Being a smaller company, you can't expect them to be at your toes. In the end, you can expect to be surprized of the SQ and dB of any woofer RE sells. You get what you pay for...
btw...the new XXX MSRP is around $1600...That's what they'll say if you call so, don't. Call a dealer, and you may get an 06 XXX for say, 600-900. Oh, I keep forgetting, this is a canadian site, which means border bullshit and tax. Good luck affording one, but you can't go wrong with any of the speakers they crank out of the factory.

i've got one of last year's 12" XXX subs running of a viper 1200.1 and i'm fairly impressed.
The only thing i have to compare to is a pair of 12" type r's (2004's) which ran of 800rms. Granted box's could make a world of difference, i found SPL to be about equal, and the SQ to be a bit better then that of the type r's.
Thats my view. Now i'd like to pick up another xxx, but that requires more money, plus another or a bigger amp, which in the end, will just upset my jeep's electrical system.
All in all i'm fairly happy though, no complaints about RE XXX from 05

...
REs are a very nice sub and I have heard that they are a great company to deal with (from a competitor standpoint, not sure about a consumer standpoint). Even their low end subs pack a serious bang for the buck, I wouldn't personally get an MT for a daily driving car, however if you were to get something like an SX I think you would find it for a reasonable price and get something that you will be very happy with. If it were me personally buying a daily driving woofer I would buy a Kicker L7 or two off ebay and save some money personally though because those woofers are awesome for daily driving and SPL comps. I really hate it too because they are so commercial and such a big company and usually you don't see great SPL and street woofers coming from companies like that, let alone at a really cheap price!

Bladeice is not located in Canada, they're European. Leading people to purchase from them when you clearly have no idea is probably not a good thing.
I appreciate the fact that you're trying to help, but make sure you know what the heck you're talking about first.
