yes what he said what headunit? is it the same setup as previous?
My old headunit was an alpine cda9831, new one is an alpine cda9856. Can there really be that much of a difference?

I'll put on some bass music soon to check to see..

A few of the newer Alpines had a couple of issues with low voltage output on the RCA outs. Try the different sets of RCA's eg. Front, Rear, Sub and see if there is any difference. Possiblely need a line driver to bring it up. If all the wiring, subs&box, and amp are the same this is most likely the issue. Also double check that if you are using the xover on the amp to set the HU to Full pass or vise versa. And be sure your sub level output on the HU is up.

Hope this helps

Ok....i just want to clear something up...

Now tell me if this is correct:

Old set up:
4 channel amp running single sub and fronts

New set up:
4 channel amp running just one sub?

Good point are you using one or two channels bridged to power the sub? Or is it a DVC and your using all the channel to power both coils?

Lightbulb

Is this a DVC woofer? If so, double check that your polarity is correct on the coils...

Not running bridged you still would hear it.
Wouldn’t the coils have smoked if the polarity was wrong on the second coil?

He does mention it is playing just softer then before and if it is a DVC he may have it series so the amp may not be putting out to even close to what it should be. We are still trying to determine if its a DVC or not. As for the coils, it may not smoke it if its lower then the thermal handling of the coils.

I'm gonna go tomorrow and have it checked out.

I bough the sub so long ago, but I THINK it is DVC.

Jax, you are correct. It is now powering one sub, rather than my old set up which was a set of components, AND the sub.
