What are sealings for speakers?

I've been into car audio for a few years and I don't know what "sealings" is supposed to mean
Unless you're talking about a sealed enclosure [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img]

I am thinking "sealings" must be speaker gaskets. Most often come with subs but I have also seen them come with component sets. They are a little foam ring that go in between the sub and the enclosure. You can also use silicone too.
