right now i have a mtx 2300xw running my kicker resolution 6.5 comps and a crossfire vr1000d pushing a e15a.I have my stock head unit in my 92 accord and want to replace it.Would getting a new head unit and a Audiocontrol 4.1 with maybe a coustic xm2 crossover be good or would getting a clarion drx 9575 with the dph7500(dsp/eq/crossover) be good as well. I am trying to get good sq without spending a lot of money.Does anyone even really use external xsovers anymore? any help is appreciated in advanced

The 4.1 is a great piece, I am only using the sub parametric section, and the line-driver capabilities, not the 5 band EQ, and it makes such a difference. My Alpine 7894 running on its own to my Rockford amp was weak, the sub level was turned up very high, and the gains were up also. As soon as I added the 4.1, the gains had to be dropped, and the adjustable boost anywhere between 40-80hz is a handy feature. I am sure that the rest of the EQ section is just as good, I just wanted to be able to keep the sub level control off of my deck.
PM'd ya, also.

I agree that the 4.1 is an awesome piece of equipment, but for most people they are not using it for all of it's capabilities. The shameless but never worn out plug for a good Eclipse CD8443 would be a good place to start. This is what we use when our competition fills a vehicle with cd player - eq /dsp - 3 line drivers. These add up to more money, take longer to install, allow more signal degradation and a bigger chance of noise into the system. Try a good cd player first, then look to the processor if it is needed.
Awesome sub amp dude!

This dealer is not marketing equipment to a person in Ontario when he lives in BC. What I did is give him a recommendation on something he can do to solve his situation that he asked about. If I had been the everage consumer, you probably would not have jumped down my neck now would you? The nice thing about being a dealer is that I have seen this situation way more often than the average consumer. Maybe if I had an old Alpine 7909 I would recommend that as well.
