whats the best 3.5" speakers?
I'd stay away from them all togeather unless its for a center channel or somthing, there is no mid bass out of them and they often sound muddled if you run deck power through them without a crossover to keep the midbass out of them.
Back a few years ago when I had my cavalier it used 3.5" up front. I went through a bunch and my favorite where some Radio Shack with a wisser cone and then some Polk Audio two ways... I had a Pioneer GM-H50 running them and most people whould want to see my mids and highs and I would show them those 3.5" polks and they would freak. The small size and loud sound quality. I also used a pair or Polk MM3000 tweeters mounted high on the A-Pillar... A friend had a pair of the 5.25 comp sets but blew the 5.25 so he gave me the tweets and x-overs. The x-overs did not work well so I used some Radio Shack 3 ways instead... The tweets and rat shack x-overs are still going today over 10yrs later...
ok.. how about this setup.
4" component set in the dash (have the tweet's in the dash somewhere, or on the top part of the doors)
and 6.5" (If I can fit them) or 5-1/4" in the front doors?
I will power the 4"/tweets via the deck, and amp the mids in the door.
would that be too high pitched? I mean... will it sound unbalanced since theres no subs or more mids in the rear?

why not just get a decent set of components, which should run only a tad more than two sets of speakers, and run the tweeters in the 3.5" locations??
Thats what i did, mid bass in kicks and tweets in dash, and it worked well.

that could work
will 6.5" be too big for the doors? If I only have 6.5" and tweeters... will it not sound full? I mean.. am I gonna have to get something to bridge the gap between the tweets and 6.5's ?
Also.. the dash already has holes for speakers, so I kinda wanted to fill it up. I know it will cost more money, but will it hurt anything if I DID put 4" w/ tweeters in there ?
