First off I think we need to look at the no #s if you guys want to talk about effeciency...

um isn't 600RMS the Max rec. power handeling for the L710 ?? I think power compression will be significanly higher then the xxx at that power level... (like at least 4db)

Then listen to what concept said about warranty ect..

XXX is going to stomp an L7 all around if you ask me.... jordy needs to go back to school...

their site lists 600RMS max dosen't it ??

(REs site lists 2500RMS max for the XXX )

I looked at n0 for both subs... looks like the XXX is about 4.2% more effecient.... so they will be close in output untill the kicker heats up and/or starts to exceed linear xmax(13mm-haha)...

Edit just to stir the pot:

Kicker =par= Audiobahn

Get the 2 XXX. I can hardly believe this topic is even being debated!! Even if it were possible the 10L7 would be louder with only 1200Wrms for the pair...UPRGRADE you amps later one. Or just get another one. You can get them puppies loud. A buddy has 1 18. I used to think it sucked *** cause it was in a ****ty sealed box, but he build a new vented one it slams. Also has a very good sound to it. smooth.

If your going for all out SPL comp. Both of these choices you have are not as good as they could be. But for an all around "SQL" driver. The XXX is gonna kick ***.

Haunz, in reality there isn't much point paying any attention to #'s. You can do all the math and calculations you want but until you put it in a box, in a car, and add power you don't really know crap about how it will perform. Just a vague clue.

This is not a dis against you, just something that I have come to learn about car audio.

why dont you get a single 12" XXX, run that off your amp for now, save up your money, then buy another amp and another XXX if you like the way it sounds.

I hear ya jon..

But a sub with a higher no # should have more output in a range of settups in compairson to a sub with a lower #...

it is all relative though.. like you are saying...
