What's your favourite Amplifier brand?
#23
Oh yea, I know, the old Rodek stuff rocked. ... 2250 was it?
And the old school Orion, I always loved the HCCAs and SX series.
I had a nice set of old school PPIs that came with a fox I had bought, art series.. LOL, sold them for $35, all 4. LOL
My wife ran 2 Rockford Amps in her car. She sold it, and the person we know is still running the system. 6 years strong!
I opted for Kicker though

I think the models were the RA2150, RA2180 and I had a RA2300 running 2 RF Power 15's delievering a very underrated 2x300@4ohms
I liked the old RF amps too, I recently bought a Power 1100a2 from ebay but my trunk turned into a oven So I opted for a DD M2a with a matching DD S4.

brand names
I would probably say it depends on what application is it for. Alot of those brand names has its high's and low's model - it makes it difficult to judge. Such as...there's True Technology for quality performance, American Bass for SPL, and pretty sure there's more favourites for other types as well. But for budget and an average listening...Rockford Fosgate!

RF all the way. I've had problems with every other brand in the poll except Memphis and US amps as I have never used them. RF I have used from 1993 to now with not a problem. The sound quality is the same for all decent brand amps if you set the gains correctly. It is the reliability that means the most.

I find it interesting that so many keep going on about sound quality when it's been demonstrated numerous times by many reputable testers that no human has been able to tell the difference between amps in a double blind test with levels matched. Do I have to mention Richard clark's name or the amp challenge?? He still hasn't paid out yet. You would figure by now that some golden ear would have won. I guess the differences are so obvious that your mind shuts down and doesn't allow you to hear them...lol. This only applies to SQ, not aesthetics, reliability, efficiency, design goals etc...
