You can add brands like Pyle, Exile, Boss, Power Acoustik, Lanzar, Explosive, Soundstorm, Concept, Jensen, Cuspid, Valor, American Pro, MA Audio, etc to the mix as well for really low priced priced gear. Do not limit yourself to Pyramid and Profile. Lotsa choices that will give you similar performance. If you want something higher end go for Crunch or Legacy and never look back. Most if these brands can be found at your local friendly fleamarket car audio stand.
Lets not forget people that we are not all loaded and have money to waste on car stereos, even if it is an extra 70 dollars. And yes some very low end brands are sold in flea markets and if you want a bargain and dont have much cash you have an option (not the best, but you do have one). As for other brands that you might see in the flea market that or suspicious, you are probably right (they are used beyond belief or are imitations with garbage build quality). I have seen rockford fosgate, orion, alpine, jl audio, boston acoustics, jbl, eclipse and many other brands in the flea market, so i guess those are all garbage brands as well.
Just something to think about when you dont have that 300-400 in your pocket to spend.

Another ignorant post, just because you have the luxury of owning a steg doesnt make it the best of all best. There are a couple brands noted that are not garbage at all. Power acoustik (made from the same houses/factories as soundstream). Lanzar (very good SPL amps/optidrive series that have been used for years). Concpet (if you can even grab one i suggest you do). And finally Crunch (a branched brand of newly formed maxxsonics) i have owned several myself and currenlty still do, not a single problem with one over the past 5 years and also many competitors in DB drag using them every day, and not to mention have the same build parts and components as autotek, mb quart and hifonics.

I wasnt trying to be ignorant, I was simply stating that cadence is clean power as is infinity, and that if he just saves up, and doesnt rush his system, he can get some great sound. Everybody wants the loudness right now, and if you want to sound good while you're at it you cant rush it. Can't afford it right now? wait a few paychecks, save what you can, and in the end get something you really enjoy.
Just my 2 cents.

You've made two mistakes, as you've read two posts wrong, and basicly called two people ignorant. I was plainly opening his eyes to other brands he may look into. I apologize, if I offended you by putting Power Acoustik in the same league as Jensen etc, as I havent seen one in person, and they may have been revamped to be at a higher level. Again, I am very sorry!!!

Orion 150 HCCA/R Car Audio 4 Channel Competetion Amp - eBay (item 330313420413 end time Mar-14-09 19:03:21 PDT).
Here is an example of what you can get for around 100 on ebay. Any old orion would be a better investment that the brands you are talking about. 275 sx, 250 sx, 225 hcca, 275 hcca. These are all examples of good quality amps that usually go for in and around 100 dollars (depending on quality) on ebay and would be more than enough to drive your speakers. the link is to a 4 ch while the others are all 2ch but the 2ch amps are capable of running at least two sets of speakers. Don't waste your money. If you don't care much about how it looks you could get yourself a very good amp for 100 dollare. Just have to keep your eyes open. If you really want the garbage though you can try Mississauga fleamarket, Dixie fleamarket, RTC Electronis, AA Electronis. RTC anf AA are at matheson and Dixie
