The amp uses a huge amount of capacitance after the bridge in its power supply making it capable of delivering large amounts of current for short periods of time.... IIRC it also has an A/B output stage and the voltage available from the psu is modulated by the input signal essentially making it a class H design with a twist...

It seem to me that its a solid design and really makes alot of sense considering most of us listen to music and arn't necassarilly burping test tones in an SPL contest.... but RFs marketing spin still leaves a bad taste in my mouth....

As far as I am concearned JBL/Crown's monster 'class M' amp is the biggest baddest amplifer there is... 6kw continuous and 10kw burst from a single amplifier at something like 12.8 volts...
Can you explain why you say it only does 3kw continuous...it's cea2006 rated for rms power at 15kw. Isn't rms the "continuous" rating???

Rated Power
continuous power 500W x 4 @ 4-Ohms RMS
1000W x 4 @ 2-Ohms RMS
2000W x 4 @ 1-Ohm RMS
3750W x 4 @ 0.5-Ohm RMS
2000W x 2 @ 4-Ohms bridged RMS
4000W x 2 @ 2-Ohms bridged RMS
7500W x 2 @ 1-Ohm bridged RMS

IIRC the amp will do 15k so called 'RMS watts' for about 3 seconds when its fully charged... but it can only do 3 or 3.5kw on a continuous basis....

by compairison the GTI will do its 6kw with sine wave for minutes maybe even hours and the burst rating would be measured 'RMS power' during 1/10 second (or so) tone bursts that would be cycled on and off....

Actually he is the direct contact for Exile in Ontario which makes him the rep also he is in Toronto not BC due to the low amount of Exile dealers in Ontario Karem takes care of everything cause he is a close friend to Bill the owner of Exile. I was just at the bar with Karem and Bill two weeks ago.

As far as I know Future Shop is the only dealer in Ontario That I know of
