Yes memphis has a couple of amps that can handle 1ohm. I have 2 MC1000D, each one puts out 1100w at 1 ohm. Your 1500d will do 1500w at 2 ohms. You should load it down.

The salesperson was wrong -- the point of your question is not whether you SHOULD buy a one ohm stable amplifier, but if you COULD buy a one ohm amplifier -- "if you don't help your customers, someone else will" -- he might have done better by SUGGESTING that perhaps a 4 ohm model might sound better, but it does not sound from your statement that he tried to give you the answer to the question you initally asked.

All those guys that are always pushing the local dealer and dumping on guys that shop online should read this. This is an example of the kind of crap that has turned me off of local shops over the last 20 years. It's a very common attitude that I have found with many salepersons from many local shops. There are a few good ones, but I really don't have the time or the inclination to go find them.
Oh, you are totally correct and check out hifonic's new line of Brutus amps. Just received one from the states, a BX1205d 1200 watt mono at 1 ohm and it rocks for a grand total of 400.00 cdn with everything included(shipping, conversion, and taxes).

^^ And this makes the online store any better how? The person who generally shops on line already knows what he is after. If he shops at the local store and the salesperson does not know wtf he is talking about, find another person who does. Too many times the e-tailer does not give a rat's butt about who is purchasing the gear.

Any shop can have one disgruntled employee or an employee that should have gotten out of the industry long ago. Unfortunately , this employee can give the shop a bad name/reputation.

If you get a bad vibe about shopping in a specific store, dont buy there....there may be a shop just down the road that will be more than eager to earn your business.

Blah, Blah, Blah this is the 3rd thread that turned into a dealers vs. online retailers. Can we all just agree to disagree? They both have their pros and cons, and it is up to the person buying the product to decide. Its a free marketplace.
/end rant

Actually Veeman, you are the one who brought it up in the first place. Up until then no one had mentioned the us vs. them attitude. The day that a e-tailer burns you or someone you know, and this will happen, is the day you may understand things a little more clearly.

If this was your choice of career and you had a vested interest in a business and were not just a employee of some store who could care less about the customer (I agree that there are many of these idiots who work in even some of the best stores - thus I can see how easy it is to get turned off), would you not find this on line unauthorized e-tailing a threat to your business?
