whooooooo new question!
How do you go about running multiple amps ? say i had 3 subs, would it be preferd 3 amps, one amp bridged with a second amp or ?
|
There can be any number of subs ran to one amp.... you do not need to have one sub per amp.
|
oh :S well then wtf i thought it was one amp to one channel ? unless im mistaken.. and since iv been here these last few days i have been often.. what about the multiple amp question ? just for shits and giggles, isn't it just a large gauge wire ran back from the battery to a dist.block then to teh amps?
|
u can do 1 run of wire per amp, or 1 run of wire back to distro split off to each amp, or you could just buy a bigger amp and run less amps...
keep it as simple as possible, the more things you add the more potential problems you can run into. |
thats what i thought, what about this as many subs to one amp :s ? can anyone answer that for me?
|
depends on the load and the amp
sometimes 3 amps works better sometimes 1 amp will work better all depends on the equipment |
Again, as I posted earlier.... it is all about matching the sub(s) to the amp. I have run thirty two 12" subs off of a 150 watt mono amp before. It is knowing what you can and cannot do that will make or break the system.
|
i have been looking into new subs. and i dont mean to bother everyone with all my questions so iv been breaking them up into different threads about different things.
ok, thanks for your help :) holey ! well then that helps alot kinda.. other than the knowing part lol |
Im looking at an amp, on the front of it it says 400 watts rms but in the description it says
2 OHM Output Power - Full Range 1200W Bridged Power At 2 OHMS - Full Range 1200W Total Max Power 1200 Watts so does that mean its 400 watts or 1200 ??? |
Always post the make and model of what it is you are looking at, otherwise all we can do is guess.
