Man o Man I would love to see some finals.
The most difficult part is that not all of the smaller shops who could promote the event would probably want to do it.
Would East Hamilton Radio want to help promote an Event with FutureShop? No, because then the people who are attending would have a bigger product selection and a big company and FutureShop could squash them.
If we could get local shops that have different product lines then yea it might work it get a good show, but you would probably need a big name backing it.
I group should be setup to look into having an event for next year. Market Trends and Research would be needed to figure out exactly how far people will come, and how many people the event will draw to get things there. Registration / Tickets (If the event is in a big venue) would surly cover all of the costs, but it is the upfront which is why we would need a big name.
The best bet would be to contact the people down at House of Boom and see if you can get some numbers on how their events do. If a lot of people and vehicles show up then you may want to consider them running a Canadian Final. Try insulting them by calling their House of Boom SPL Van a Piece of **** and that the 20hz Truck will Demolish them
Think about it.

if there was a canadian finals, it should be in winnipeg, that way it is an even distance for guys to travel, or we could setup a competition date & have an online east vs west,on termpro .it would take some organization, but thats one of the options with the new termlab.if we support the guys holding these events, they will happen(we'll settle this east/west stuff later)

Canadian Finals would have to be in Ontario. It's the hub of SPL in Canada as we have the most SPL vehciles competing and the loudest vehicles in Canada ........... as you will witness at this years finals Plus, we have the furtherest southern point in the country and Niagara Falls and the largest Duty Free store in Canada. Oh yeah, and the Leafs !!!!

if only you all knew. you gotta remember that money can easily come from distributors. distributors spend so much money each year on shows(unfortunately not on spl) i mean high dollars. enough to kill a horse. but trying convince a distributor to pay for a show that will have maybe 100...500....5000 speactators is not worth it. big shows like sport compact nights has a flow of 10 000-30 000 spectators. while that number doesn't even come close when you look at audio thunder. well ok maybe audio thunder comes close. but it would not be a proper investment to spend alot of money on a low attendance show(whether it be spl or import). but this is the thing. if i company that carries lots of different brands, can go to each of his different distributor, then maybe with the help of each different dist, then a massive show(triple point event) can hopefully happen. hands up , how many guys would pay 20-30 dollars to go go see a show. how many guys would pay an entrance fee of $100 plus another $100 for power? i bet everyone raised there hands. how many guys wuld actually show up? attendance at canada biggest db drag event(audio thunder) was low this year and i already kow that for next year at least 2 manufacturer's will not be there next year.1 manufacturer being one of the biggest there is. but that's just my 2 cents.
P.S. we're extreme 2 , but we're new to the game so give us a few years to get better. we started this project to get more spl going in bc. we spent almost 3000 this year to go to shows. and probably won about 100 worth of prize money, and 10 trophies. more heart an soul is needed to make spl bigger in (western) canada. More guys like Moe, Ray, Rob vo, Matt etc.
