its very possible your problem is in the midbass freq's.. about 60hz to 250hz.. A lot of people dont realize that the midbass freq's are very important for good sounding bass.. theres a lot of ways to fix this though.. Possibly going to a 6.5" mid rather then the 5" you have now.. Possibly changing sub enclosure/subs.. Possibly improving your mid install (damping door etc), possibly adding dedicated midbass speakers, to name a few.. Lots of options.

According to Bassbox Pro 6 your box creates a huge impedance rise starting at 50hz and ending around 28hz. We are talking 4ohm rise!

As for trying to match your bottom end with your top end.
You need to add time alinement and phase alinement.

Personally I don't know how people run without it.

As for your equipment, all capable except the T3-1000d which I find powerful but SQ isn't up to par.

Based on the amount of crap I have read and do not agree with, my suggestion first thing is to get that box under control. Laymens terms, your bass sounds like a wet fart because the box is too big. Go too small and it is tight but lacks depth, too big and it is deep and lacks control. Time to shrinkola the box some. As far as the subs being electrically out of phase, disconnect both subs and take a small AA battery and pop the speakers. If both cones move in or out at the same time, they are electrically in phase. Acousticall in phase means that the cones are moving the same outward stroke as the balance of the speakers in the system. Some systems perform better when the subs are acoustically out of phase instead of acoustically in phase. Do not confuse the two types of phase, they are entirely different.

Your box is too big!...if you are experiencing lag or overhang during playback of techno / dance songs it is because a box tuned to 30HZ or under does not have the same impact or dynamic transients as a 60-90HZ tuned box design...your box can't play 60-90HZ notes transiently because there is not enough spring behind the woofers to keep the pressure behind the sub tight...(as this is due to the larger box size and possibly lower tuning thus resulting in "as you described" your subs hitting late)...Rap has mostly 30HZ bass note that are slow in their transient...techno has fast 60-100HZ notes that require a box that is tuned slightly higher to incorporate those freq's better.

I would highly suggest re-building a smaller box for the subs...and try tuning it a little higher than 40HZ if possible.

I use an Alpine PRA-H400 for time and a Earthquake Phase Four.

as one of the other guys mentioned, experiment with this box first to determine the optimum box volume by adding blocks of known volume(measure it). When you get to the sound you like...you know the volume to build your next box, or glue down the blocks inside the current box, and enjoy.
