Unhappy Why in the world doesn't this system have any bass?

Ok so to begin here is the setup: I have a 01' Mustang that originally had the Mach 460 sound system. The previous owner of the car stripped that all out, added a different app and speakers. Looks like before selling, put all the stock speakers in but left in that different amp.

Now for additional backgorund I had a 00' Mustang before with the stock Mach 460 system and LOVED IT. For me that was A+ for me and had loads of bass and sound. So for me that's what I'm comparing to when I say how much bass roughly I like.

The car as it stands now has a new setup that I have paid for professional installation. All the wires were double checked and re-done where necessary making sure the setup to the amplifier was done properly. There is 0% of the Mach 460 system left; no original wire harnesses, original amps, original speakers, nothing.

Here is the current setup:

Head Unit: Alpine IVE-W535HD
Speaker Count: 6
Front Tweeters in Door: 2" Alpine SPS-110TW
Front lower door speakers: 5x7" Alpine SPS-517
Rear Speakers: 5x7" Alpine SPS-517
Amplifier: AUTOTEK ATX950

The result: Super clear system with almost NON-EXISTENT BASS.

Ok maybe not some $5000 system, but these aren't the 15w stock speakers either. I've heard stock systems in a Chevy Cobolt that blow my sound away.

What in the world is going on here? Why is there no bass? I've tried all sorts of configurations from the radio and nothing really sounds good. Music is super clear, mid and high range is good but lows stink.

Should my system be this bad producing bass? Shouldn't the amp drive those speakers (I know only 5x7, but still) a bit more??

One could offer up all sorts of things here but the long and short of it is: you need a sub. Fortunately it can be as simple as a single 10 in a sealed box - under $150 if you shop around.

Run the back 5x7s off of the head unit, use half the Autotek to run the sub, and you're done.

^x2 you can also try adjusting the hpf ... It may be set to high filtering out too much midbass

There may be a problem with acoustic phase causing cancellation.
Make sure to mount the 5x7's properly, so no rear wave cancellation occurs, try mounting the 5x7's onto a wood plinth, instead of directly to metal of plastic mount.
-then add a sub-woofer, minimum 8 inch or as Dukk suggested a 10.
