Will build my own transformer for the amp.

For those who want to break a wall at home with car sub hehehe, dream can come true. My teacher will give me the material to roll a big @ss transformer with 4 diodes, selectable output voltage one 12V other 13.8 for bit less amperage. 120V 60hz input, 100amp @ 12V output. 87amp@13.8volt or I can add another level output like 14.5 or so. Im tired to find PSU to test car amps. Not regulated output yet, but maybe in future.

what type of core you going with ?

what do u mean by core?

I need roll some wire and my teacher will give me further information.
Everything is calculated by software. I need to find the right wire size, www.amh.ca will help me for free lol they build their on transfo.

well I would assume you are going to wind the wire around a collection of EI laminations but there are other options...

in this case an air core is probably a bad choice

metal core = less windings
air core = more winding
