I thought you might be implying the DCR of the coils would throw it into protect at that load....
If it cuts out at 1ohm daily its because you are exceeding the current capacity of the psu causing it to current clip....... set the gains properly and it shouldn't be a problem........ just keep in mind you may get significantly less power then you would at 2ohms....
