will it be louder than my stock system?

the back of the seat is very common, my buddy has his 701.1 gto amp bolted there as well in his jetta. dont wanna make any assumptions but i think its just where most big shop installers at like fs and bb do it unless you make your own amp rack and sutff. and its better than drilling it onto your sub box. i dont have any rear seats in my van, so i just have a small box for the amp, opened face on the bottom of it, and then i used rubber bushings or whatever they are called under the amp screw holes, this keeps 0 contact on the amp anywhere for maximum cooling without having to use a small computer fan or something, but my amp does have heavy amounts of heat sink...
if your amp gets too hot there id moove it.

Well I got it all installed and I am more than satisfied with the results! Only problem is this cheap grand am with no sound damping vibrates so loud it sounds like the sub is distorted! the stock spoiler is hollow and makes a tone of noise! the entire trunk vibrates, the liscence plates are ready to fall off! the dash and power locks in my doors vibrate, my rear view mirrow is just an accessorie with the sub on, its completly useless if you try and look out of it! and my hubcaps vibrate real loud! (gues its time for real rims)
I still cant beleive how loud this single 12" is! blows away my buddys twin 12" memphis system! Kicker Comp CVR= 2 thumbs up!
thanks for all the support guys. Any Ideas on vibration?

Bear snot....
Seriously, that's what I heard it called at a shop..... Black gummy stuff that goes under a couple of spots at the bottom of your plate will stop it from rattling.
The larger panels (trunk lid, doors etc.) will need some kind of damping material applied to them to quiet them down....

Dynomat or anything equivilant, i added to extra screws to the bottom of my license plate on my old car that helped too, around the trunk lid i but truck cap rubber couldn't see it but the trunk sat really snug on it. Review mirror not to many options mine used to always fall off, hub caps...take them off or rims. and the buttons maybe glue them down better or something have to play with that one...

dynamat is my single favourite investment in my car. you can do your entire car with Dynamat Xtreme for under $300 off of ebay. i've used multiple products, and all dampening materials is NOT the same...dynamat xtreme is the best....but you do pay for it.
that will completely solve you rattles, and you will gain significant volume. the less you can hear outside your car the better, all that is is sound escaping, and nothing is more embarassing and amateur sounding than a vehicle that rattles to and sounds like a tin box.
your music will also sound cleaner once you apply sound kind of deadener as well.
you can be creative with stuff like a licence plate. i used those little felt pads for the bottom of chair legs on each corner...cost pennies and works perfect. ...stuff like that
regardless if its felt pads dynamat or whatever...if you are using ANY kind of adhesive, it is imperitave that you use them on perfectly clean surfaces, otherwise they aren't going to be adhesive for too long.
