Can someone tell me if it would be wrong to run a mono signal to the left and right inputs of a 2 channel amp (that is not bidgable) and then run the left speaker output to one coil an my sub and the right speaker output to the other coil on the same sub?

My amps are stable to about 3 ohms and the sub has 4 ohms resistance on each coil.

Thanksalot!

Thanks!
Now would it also be really important to match the output voltage to each coil and if so could I do that by simply using a voltage meter?

unless your competeing with it and beating the crap outta it i dont think its crucial, but i could be wrong. i think you might be able to get away just putting the gains at similar levels.

Indeed, I am now actually considering bridging a 4 channel amp into 2 channels and running a mono signal to the left and right inputs - hence 2 sensitivity controls.

I dont see the point of doing that. if you just use a 2 channel or mono block you wont have to deal with gain issues of each coil
