Wiring dual 4 ohm to 1 ohm

So I have 2 boss phantom 15s dual 4 ohm about 1500 maybe 1600 watt each. And a boss phantom 5000 watt monoblock. Now I know I can wire then to either 4 or 1 ohm but how will wiring at 1 ohm affect the drivers? Will they not last as long or should I just wire them to 4 ohms and get less power? Any opinions appreciated

This site is dead man,but really if your wiring each sub to 2ohm,then both them subs equal 1ohm,the subs should be able to handle there max watts, you gotta think rms and max watts, might be hard on the subs or blow them, but alot amps speakers are not what they say they are.but they just wont be as loud as what they could be at 1ohm,so just take it all into thought,be safe, but get the most out of them

wiring to 4 ohm will be better for sound quality as the damping factor of your amplifier will be higher....in the case of damping factor, a higher number is more gooder.....assuming your amplifier power ratings are legitimate, your likely going to still have plenty of power to make the woofers sound good.
