I bought a Blade Grenade series amp a long-*** time ago. It was a good sounding amp at the time (was far surpassed by my next amp - pg zx450 v.1). Only problem was it didn't like 2ohm stereo for a terribly long time. It had an interesting device to combat theft called the Grenade pin, or something like that. It was an encoded phono plug that would have to be in for the amp to function. Good idea, but would break often when moved around. Clean looking amp too. Oh well.

alpine CDA-7878 sent that POS back under warrenty twice for "hi-temp" problems when it quit the 3rd time out of warrenty I tossed it in the shed and went back to gold ol reliable kenwood.
too bad it was a sweet deck featurewise......... you'd think when you pay 1100 bucks for a head unit it would last more than a year and a half

Viper790XV Nothing but BS with the remote. Unit was good, remote sucked.
Viper claimed to have no issues with the remote. When it didn't work for me 3 feet in front of my car it found a new home smashed against the brick wall on the other side of the alley out side my shop.

I know some people have had lots of success with them and it did put out lots of power (especially for the price) but it was NOT reliable for me. It is stabel to 1ohm an ddoes 1200rms there. I ran mine at 2ohm and it fried within a week of light duty. Got it back from warranty and it lasted 15 minutes and went up in smoke. Back from warranty again and it wouldn't even turn on. Forth time back from warranty I sold it without testing it (I was afraid it would fry if I turned it on).

Bad you for selling it blindly though.

Actually I did tell him I just got it back from warranty and if it didn't work they would fix it for him at no charge. He lived very close to the distributer so he wouldn't even have to pay any shipping costs.
The distributer knew me by first name after this ordeal and I told him I was selling the amp without personally testing it and if it doesn't work it's coming back to him and he's fixing it under the warranty. They agreed no problem.
I take care of anyone I deal with 110%
