Question Would this work?

Alright, I think a lot of you know that I am dealing with an engine whine comming from my components. A dude recommended that I make a better ground for my head unit. Well, I used -TWO- 16 gauge wires for the ground and hooked them up strait to the battery just for testing and I couldn't even hear a whine. So I ordered some 10 gauge wire for my new perminent head unit ground.

A ton of other people recommended that I just ground my amp closer to the amp. The wire runs from the negative battery term (0 gauge) to a distribution block then (4 gauge) to the amp. Since the distribution block has one 0 gauge and three 4 gauge holes I thought this might work: Hook the speaker amp to hole 1, the sub amp to hole 2, and a wire that leads from hole three to the body of the vehicle. Do you guys think that would destroy my problem or would I still get whine because the amps are still directly grounded to the battery? I don't have access to any extra power wire at the moment but if grounding my ground wire to the body would work I would way rather do that then run extra wires to the head unit.

ding. ding..we have a winner.
there have been a billion posts about E-noise.
the first thing some bonehead has to regergatate is "bad ground'
what it actaully is, is an indiferentual ground plane between two devices. the most common is "electonic equipment" grounds. the signal they produce also have a ground. If there is a huge difference between the "1rst reproduction" device's ground, and the final " reproductions ground", there will be the invitation of what ever lies between.
your best weapon will be a piece ff 18awg wire. try making the signal ground a common between the two units.
ground loop isilators are phase phuckers that put a band aid on problems. The true sign of a great installer is someone that can elliminate all E-noise.
keep trying all possibilities with system grounds... audio...signal..
20 years ago we use to run multiple styles of "din" cables.. evry manufacturer had there own configeration. there was no RCA cables. Those were the days of E- noise,
