PEI330Ci - Mr Adam- The application of an undercoating should skirt all the objections/ concerns with sound-deadening in your last post. The undercoating will be to stop the noise goesinta, from the floor, and not to move the sound source to the next weakest link. Of course you would now notice your new weakest link for noise gosinta more (let’s say its window seals) just because you’ve lowered the noise floor.
Sound absorption (foam, fiber mat, X-term, carpet) will always consume energy so the retransmission will be at a lower amplitude. The Dynamat type stuff has limited value for the higher freq absorption or retransmission but should do well for stopping structure born vibration.

Ok, so what I'm getting from this basically is that it's a tag team effort on the part of sound barrier and liquid vibration dampener (whatever it may be) to create the ultimate unwanted noise solution... and that liquid dampening product DOES infact create a sound barrier but just not equivalent to that of a solid or foam base like V/L Comp. Is this true?

Secondly, does anyone know if there exists a 100% transparent deadening product I can use on my windows?

Thanks for the help and well structured answers so far, folks.

no
Aerogell is translucent- 1)it is not clear and 2) you can’t afford it and 3)it won’t stand up to in car use as a translucent barrier (fragile).

Man alive, you people. The politics is killing me.

My car currently does have an undercoating, but I'm gonna coat the underside again. It surprisingly doesn't catch much dirt, so it should be easy to clean and re-apply to where I need it most.
