The box is small, the port has to be large, therefore lots of paritions on the inside to make a long port
You can get the same tuning without it being so complicated, but then you'd have to use a bigger box. (Which defeats the point of getting that sub I guess).

I guess what dukk is saying, is it takes a lot more effort to build that box, rather than a generic sealed one. Which is why people would diss that type of a box. Too much effort, and too much space for error.

As long as the box is ported. It looks to be a small box, but if it requires those partitions inside, so be it.

I had a kicker 10L7 in an exact same box as that one posted, and there was 0 port noise.

Number 1 sound built that box to spec.

We also compared it to a sealed box, and there was no comparison in sound! PORTED ALL THE WAY !

ps: Dave, PM me as to what you have in the works regarding the box.

Rob, do as Chris said, maybe get someone to build the box for you, if you can't. But that complicated ported box will sound awesome, and you will be glad that you got it. Like I've said numerous times, I have the spec ported box for my 10a and it was awesome. I would assume there would be similar results for the 8a.
