I dont thing Yuli knows the meaning of CUSTOM [img]smile.gif[/img] im sure if Xiph0id had an order for say 1000 of them he could probably make them quite cheap... probably 1/2 price or less per unit if he only makes a dozen or so ... yes those damn set up costs CNC would be cool but the first one would cost ALOT of money... the rest pennies

I'd say $60 is reasonable.
The 6" ports are expensive because they are marked up by the manufacturer, then the company that puts their name on them, then the distributor, then the dealer. With no middlemen, $60 is reasonable.

 

For setting up to make 1000's would be in the 30 000 range.

If I only make 10 it'd be quite pricey.

I am going to make 1 to test with. Should only cost about 400$ to make the first one. What size should I make it? Hmmm.

Heh.. funny part is I actually have a wood form that is about %75 complete. Just need to add some bondo to round out the edges and voila. Add 'glass and you've got yourself a port! [img]smile.gif[/img]

Cost me about $6 for the builders tube and I used scrap pieces of wood from old boxes.

 

One way to get a nice looking flare, is find someone with a wood lathe and then bondo it up like JordyO said
