2005 dB Drag Rules Here!

^^^ you got a pretty damn good point ... limit the #of amps period
but you always gotta keep in mind... how much power can you get for a burp out of a single battery system that is no greater than 14volts and 800 cubic inches in size?... amps will only last so long with a really bad voltage drop

Just looking at the rules and the new additions and found something sort of interesting...
Under Section 6-7i is as followswith the addition in double brackets)
·The primary battery must be located in the stock OEM location. The secondary battery (if installed) may be mounted wherever the competitor desires ((behind the B-Pillars or under the hood)) provided no other applicable rules are violated.
Now does this mean someone can throw a battery on their backseat, half *** wire it up,and jump themselves into a different class?
If so,isnt that a little unsafe?
Thats my thoughts...Whats yours??
As well...There is mention of Mini-Street classes...What do you think will be the ruling on that?
I'm not looking to run it, but would be interesting to know the guidelines to try and get some new guys out....

"Well..I'm in Street A..but I'm going to get my *** fed to me..here, lets throw a battery in the back seat, half *** wire it up, and go up to Street C or Street Max.."
I think it should be ruled as this..
"Any battery ,beyond the primary battery located in its factory location, must be in the area known as "the trunk area" and must be fastened securly to either the vehicle or to a rack that will not allow the battery to move freely"
Ok...well..maybe a little "overworded" but I think you get what I mean...
Right now we are back to the same problem they had before of people putting way too big of a battery in the factory location, mounted in such a way as to cause an electrical/fire hazard...

Ok...I see what your getting at....
And as far as the fire hazard thing...There was some pics posted here sometime ago of a CRX I beleive, where dude had half wedged this deep cycle battery(or battery of same size)..The wiring was horid and one wrong bump and the thing would have slipped and shorted out...It was scarely looking....
But even having the battery in the back seat for Street Max is kinda nuts I think...

to get a dry cell size battery into the crx u actually have to cut and trim the battery. thats what i had to do to get a 1700 into a 89 civic (same motor and engine compartment as a crx).
i had to melt and cut some parts of the battery off.
