Thanks for your input...makes sense to me...
I would be gald to run one of their discs before running an 8 track thru...my system hit so much harder on CD(of course)..
I'm just looking to make it clear that it IS THE LOUDEST 8 TRACK CAR STEREO IN THE WORLD!!
After all is said and done...2 more 12's...a bigger amp....and a better 8 Track player,I am hoping to hit min. of 120's...not looking to win with it...Just want one run....after that,I will be happy...
Anyway,I may juat give this Wayne fella a call....who is he anyway??hehe......

I just got off the phone with Mr.Wayne Harris at db Drag in Idaho...Mr.Drag Himself!!
He says that at any single point,local,or spectator event I can run any type of source material I wish.It's only at 2x and 3x events that a person MUST run the db Jams CD published by db Drag themselves.
Soooo....
This means I will be running most of the events I attend this season on 8 Track...Keep you fingers crossed for me...
I want a trophy this year...even just a tiny one...but a trophy would kick ***!!

not many trophies out there, mostly gift certificates or cash... u could maybe buy a trophy tho....

sorry to jack your thread, but does anyone know if they are still runnin mini street this year in db drags?? lookin at the rules and classes i got the feelin it was gone, im hopin i am wrong....

Hey Game...
Your probably that icky colored Kia that kicked my butt last year at Audio Concepts,right??LOL
As far as Mini-Street goes,I am of the understanding that ACM is no longer doing the SPL stuff anymore....well......at least this year anyway.....I spoke with them at one time w few monthes back,but I don't remember the details of the chat...
But I have not heard anyone mention anything of Mini-Street so far....I don't know man....
I will be bumped up to Street B this year if all goes well,so I am starting to look at the rules and what not of that...
As well,I understand some of the shows are going on surface area rather than numbers and watts...
Look around and see whats happening....

hey now no shots at the color of the kia man [img]tongue.gif[/img] and its SANTIAGO YELLOW.......
which car were u?? i remember beatin the riced out integra with the dragon on the hood, and a little VW, not too sure bout the other cars before that.... but i had no idea that a few small changes would bump me from a 135.7 to a 139.3 lol, i dunno bout the new classes specially if they are goin by straight surface area. like yay lets put 2 12" memphis subs gettin 1000w each against a pair of PPI 12s gettin 60 each..... [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img]
i think mini street was a great class for those on a budget, like it totally keeps thing level and it comes down to the stupid things like box design, positioning and the willingness to go ***** out and blow some fuses

I used to have a Silver '02 Sunfire 4dr with a 5 spd.....
But in recent past I fell on hard times as far as money goes and I lost it......
I now have a 90 Sunbird....I used to own this car before the Sunfire....The people I was selling it to on payments were gracious enough to give it back to me when they heard of my money problems..(fortunatly,all I lost during those times was the car)(kept the subs! [img]graemlins/headbang.gif[/img] )...LOL.......and......I got it back EXACTLY as I gave it to them....just maybe a few more KM's on it and rusted like you wouldnt belive....in fact....MY garbage was still in the thing when I got back some 7 monthes later...LOL........but good to have a car again that I can do what I want with..
Anyway.....'nuff of my life story...
As far as doing this kind of thing on a budget...you talking to King Budget here...I am cutting every corner I can find to make this whole project come together....eating KD......missing bill payments...
All that is going into this car for the most part either used or bought at such a ridiculous low cost....and labour...all my own or donated through friends like Loud Brown Kicker Colt...In fact,if it wasn't for him,this whole project would not exsist....(thanks Rob!!)
Anywho.....Hope to see you out this year...I'll come over and say hello if I see ya!!

i know the hard times man, before the kia i was in an 89 sunbird. it was great, good car, just dumped 400$ into new struts and shocks, week later i took on a fish truck..... bye bye birdie..... week after that it was the 02 rio in the driveway, insurance doubled, and all of a sudden theres another 5-600 a month in bills to pay..... then throw in a couple credit cards, (new guitar amp and computer were necessities at the time) theres another 2k in debt
now its like every 3-4 weeks work is tryin to cut my hours from like 45 a week to like 25...
so its lookin like imma hand the car off to my mother, and get somethin else thats not gonna run me 300+ a month in payments, so maybe i can dump some cash into a stereo, till then its the same set up as last year, maybe a little bigger amp i have collecting dust under the desk here.... lookin at maybe sellin my old impp 10s to a friend... its hard tho cus she would be puttin them into a civic... i dunno if i could bear to see that happen..... they need a good home,
i feel used and cheap ive been forced to do installs of like LED washer sprayers and other rice like components......for friends to satisfy the 12 volt addiction..... [img]graemlins/cry.gif[/img]
imma try to hit as many shows as possible this year, participation will be up in the air till i see what the classes and rules are like, no sense givin away 15-20$ i dont have for one qualifying run and then to get slaughtered by someone with a 5k budget and a nicer install.....

ive heard that before.... oh well its different and i like it so other peoples opinions are their own, like i always say if i wanted to fit in and have something everyone else has i would own a black civic with blue neon everywhere LED washers chrome wiper blades JL 12s with an alpine deck and a sony amp and clarion mids......
