American Bass Experts - Your Advice

Hi everyone. My name is Nishaan and i am from South Africa. I did a Google search on American Bass amps and was directed to your Audio Forum. I require some advice on American Bass products as i can see that in Canada that this product is used far more than in South Africa. Let me start of by saying that i am only person currrently using American Bass products in South Africa at this point and time. We hardly ever have Db Drag here in SA(South Africa). IASCA is the main competition of choice here. I am not sure if you guys are aware but there are a good few IASCA world records held by SA competitiors. Anyways, coming back to myself. I compete in a class that we call BASS BOXING. We have three different classes here for BASS BOXING. We have Stock, Advance and Ultimate BASS BOXING. There only difference there is from the Everblast Bass Boxing rules is that we dont get the crowd involved. Our DB readings is solely based on the vehicle playing commmercially available music over the 60 second average on the Audiocontrol Spl 190 meter. I take part in the Stock format of Bass Boxing and i am the South African Stock Bass Boxing champion for the last three years in a row. I am trying to be champion again for the fourth year in a row when we have IASCA finals on the 07/08 November 2008. I use a Hatchback vehicle that we call a Toyota Conquest. My system consits of 2 X 12" American Bass VFL subs and 2 X American Bass 500.1 Amplifiers. My SA record at present is 149 DBS for playing music that is avaeraging over 60 seconds on the Audio Control Meter. As you know in IASCA stock class that you are only allowed two batteries. I use a Optima Yellow top 55 Amp battery in the front and a Northstar NSB 90 at the back of the vehicle. What i want to know is that if i upgrade to a bigger American Bass Amp (maybe a 700.1) will it necessarily help my DB reading considering that there are only two batteries in the car and that i am playing music at full volume for 60 seconds. Currently after doing a run the subs tend to smell a little. i have been using these subs since 2005 and have never had a problem with them. I would appreciate any advice that you guys can give me with regard to using a bigger American Bass amp. Kind regards. Nishaan

there wer only 3 700.1 amplifiers made they are not for sale.

You have enough power with the 2 500.1's you need to build a new box for you subs. in a vehicle lkie that you should be hitting 151-153 with a proper box and some testing.

Hi. thanks for your reply. i also think that the 500.1 amps are enough. with the same box i do a 154 on a spl run. But Spl is not my game, we guys are really into Bass Boxing here. the truth of the matter is that i have not really worked on the car. i know theres much more potential. i just want to make sure that i have the right amps for the job.

What if was to use one American Bass 1000.1 Amp. Would it do the trick. Will the two batteries be enough to handle the amp for 60 seconds ?
